Review of the entire TwinLuxe 'Shaving Skincare' Line - Top Luxury Shaving and Men's Skin Care Products

The TwinLuxe 'Shaving Skincare' range is a 7-product men's luxury skin care and shaving line. Paraben-free and not test on animals, each of the products are infused with anti-aging Asian botanicals offering men the complete solution for a high performance skin care and shaving line.

I purchased these products because of the rave reviews I read from others on the internet and couldn't be more happier with them after using them for months. I am not suprised why others too have named individual TwinLuxe 'Shaving Skincare' products as their top picks in their respective product categories for 2011 and 2012. Here are my detailed reviews pros and cons for each of the TwinLuxe products:

If I could develop one miracle cosmetic product to use on my face day after day, what would it be? I would want one that could heal and moisturize my face. One that I could use also for night-time repair. And one that would also help me with get a closer and smoother shave.

Well I think I have found a product that just does that! It's the TwinLuxe Booster Serum. This product is by far the most versatile product out of the entire TwinLuxe skin care range. It can be used as a high-performance healing serum as well as a great pre-shave serum (a superior alternative to greasy pre-shave oils) and also as a great post-shave revive product.

I've used this product daily and it has lasted me 2 months. I am now on my 2nd bottle. Here is my review of the Booster Serum:

Pros:
1. Absorbs fast into skin. This product works fast on the skin.
2. Super smooth skin surface after application. Perfect for application BEFORE your shaving cream to get the closest shave possible. It is not greasy too like preshave oils.
3. Hydration Heaven. Your skin will thank you for this!
4. Night time repair serum. I love to use this product right before I hit the sack everyday. My skin feels very vibrant and smooth when I wake up each morning.

Cons:
1. $76 for a bottle. But considering that this is a super concentrated high performance serum, it is priced a lot cheaper than women serums and worth every dime in my opinion.

Finding a great shave cream that does it all is a feat considering that there are so many different kinds of shaving creams out there. One that I think everyone should try and use is the TwinLuxe Smooth Shave Cream. I have used all the high-end brands out there such as Trumpers, Truefitt & Hill, A of S, Zirh, etc and I can confidently conclude that overall, the TwinLuxe shaving cream deserves the title of "2012 - The Best Shave Cream for Men". After using an entire tub that lasted me a couple months (I shave every day or every other day if I am lazy), here are my thoughts of it:

Pros:
1) I love its creamy and smooth texture. Spreads onto your face like a delicious buttercream frosting....what a luxurious feeling.
2) It is super-slick. I managed not to cut myself on each shave for the two months I used this cream. No other cream I have used is this slick.
3) Shave Cream does not dry out and get lumpy. So there is no need to rush when shaving.
4) Skin is super moisturized after shaving. This cream provides a lot of skin nourishment and my skin is super soft after a clean shave.
5) Scent is very masculine and faint. Love it! Hard to describe it but it's very nice.

Cons:
1) The cream is a bit hard to wash off if I use my Gilette Fusion cartridge razor. It gets stuck in between the blades. However, washing it with running warm water solves the problem.

As you can see, this cream is in my opinion the best shave cream out there on the market. I could not find much wrong with it and will enjoy continue using the TwinLuxe Smooth Shave Cream as my core shaving product for the perfect shave.

I've always been looking for a great multi-functioning moisturizer/aftershave-balm product. I'm for using effective products which can help you minimize the number of bottles you have on your sink. That is one of the reasons why I decided to try the ENTIRE TwinLuxe Shaving Skincare line products. They are advertised as being multi-functional meaning you can use them for shaving and you can use them for daily skin care maintenance.

After using around half the container of the TwinLuxe Soothing Face Balm for 3 months (I use it daily), here are my thoughts on it:

Pros:
1) Non-greasy. This product is a non-greasy aftershave balm/moisturizer. I always hate "heavy" products which make you feel greasy the entire day. This product is just the opposite. After you apply onto face, you do not feel anything!
2) A little goes a long way with this product. I only have to use a "pea-sized" amount for my entire face and neck (as advertised on the usage directions). So this bottle will last me around 6 months or more which is great on the wallet in the long run.
3) Super hydrating. After I apply in morning, when I get back from work, I still feel my skin nourished. So the hydrating properties of this product are superb!
4) No fragrance added. I don't like scented aftershave balms as I do not want it to interfere on the days when I wear cologne.

Cons:
1) Priced at $64 a pop, it is hard on the wallet at first. But then you realize that this product lasts 2 or 3 times longer than your normal aftershave balm product.

Overall, this product deserves a 5-star rating. I will continue to use it as my core skin care maintenance and shaving product and highly recommend it to anyone who wants a high-performance dual-functionining daily moisturizer and aftershave balm product.

There are many daily facial wash products which have a combined exfoliant effect when used but finding one that doesn't scrub your entire face off or one that doesn't make your skin dry and flaky after use is hard to come by. I have used an entire TwinLuxe Renewing Face Wash & Scrub, which lasted 2 months on daily use, and found it to be one of the best or even the best face wash and scrub product I have used. Here is my review:

Pros:
1) Does not dry your face after use. How many times have you washed your face with something or scrubbed your face with a skin care product and in a few minutes your face is in the same condition or worse? I'm raising my hand here. However the TwinLuxe face wash and scrub product does not do that. My skin feels hydrated and smooth after each use. The best part is the slightly tingly sensation you get when you apply it to your face partly do to the menthol that is in the product.
2) Scrub beads are effective. Sometimes facial scrub products are either too harsh on my skin ripping it to unwanted redness or they are too gentle not being able to take off the dead skin on my face. The microbeads present in this product are perfect giving you a pleasant, gentle, but effective facial scrub wash experience.

Cons:
1) May be a little harsh on women's skin. My wife used it and complained that it was a bit harsh on her skin. Remember that men's skin is thicker than women's so maybe that is why.

The TwinLuxe Renewing Face Wash & Scrub is another hit product from TwinLuxe. I have no complaints against it but only praise. 2 thumbs up!

Once in a while I accidentally cut myself during shaving. This is usually a result of my being in a hurry and getting sloppy in my shaving technique. I'll use too much pressure and forcibly glide the razor down my beard too fast.

Finding a product that miraculously heals shaving nicks and cuts is a must have product for the avid wet shaver. After healing all my shaving accidents with the TwinLuxe Instant Rescue Gel over a 2 month period, here is my review of how well this shaving product peforms:

Pros:
1. The dispenser that houses the gel is fantastic. It is air-tight and accurately dispenses the amount you control it to.
2. The gel really heals the cuts. All you do is dab on the product and let it dry by itself.
3. Product is not messy. After it dries, you just simply use a finger and flick off the dried residue off your face.
4. More effective than styptic pens I have used in the past. You get a slight burn sensation for half a second which strangely feels nice and then it goes away.

Cons:
1. Price of $34. But it will probably last you a year if you shave every day.



Most men do not use a toner in their daily skin care maintenance routine. Yet...most men do not even know what a toner is! Well I was like that but was enlightened by some women at the mall cosmetic counters suggesting that I try applying a toner before any moisturizer as it is supposed to help with the absorption of the moisturizer. Ever since then, I am now a die hard believer of toners.

The TwinLuxe Instant Energy Mist ranks as one of my top 3 products by TwinLuxe. It acts as a toner as well as an anytime "refresher". Whenever you feel tired or whenever your skin needs a sudden boost, spritz on this mist and you will feel refreshed ... no joke! Here is my review:

Pros:
1. Fantastic toner! Spray this on after you wash your face and immediately before you put on a moisturizer or sunscreen. Your skin absorbs the moisturizer or sunscreen much better and smoother. Its hard to explain this but I'll use this analogy to explain how a toner works...compare brushing your teeth with a DRY toothbrush or with a WET toothbrush. The wet one feels better and makes it easier to brush your teeth. Same goes with toners, you can spread a moisturizer on your dry skin or on "toned" skin (after applying a toner). Spreading a moisturizer on toned skin makes your skin feel 1000x more hydrated than without using a toner first. Try it out and you will understand.
2. Very versatile product. I love to keep one of these in my office or gym bag on those times when I am in a hurry to get ready. I spray the Instant Energy Mist on my face when I need a quick fix face conditioning. If you just use the mist by itself and pat down your face gently afterwards, your face is now mattified and evenly toned/smoothed.
3. Nice tingling sensation after spritzing on. The refreshing tingling feel of this product is noticed instantly after it is spritzed on. It has a very attractive lavendar scent too.

Cons:
1. None.

Going to the spa to get a facial takes time and considerable amounts of money. I love indulging myself in doing it but paying $65/pop for them is hard on my wallet. I love facials because it keeps my skin feeling super smooth and glowing.
Applying the TwinLuxe Daily Detox Face Wash & Mask on my face and leaving it on for a few minutes and then washing it off feels somewhat like how my face feels after I get a facial. This is why I continue to use this wash & mask product and am just in love with the entire TwinLuxe skin care line! Here is my review:

Pros:
1. Silky smooth skin texture after use. My skin is not dry after use but rather moisturized feeling. This product does NOT over-dry your skin. A lot of other facial wash products make my skin dry and flaky after use and I am sure you guys know what I'm talking about too!
2. Very pleasant quaint smell. What is even better is that it is a natural smell (no fragrance added here...I checked the ingredient list).
3. Can be used as a mask for deep cleansing. Just apply a little more than usual and leave on face for a few minutes. Product does not dry hard like a clay mask but stays in liquid form.

Cons:
1. Didn't know how to use product at first. I discovered myself after initial uses that the product works best when you do not dilute it with water. Just rinse your face and then apply onto hands and rub gently. Make sure your hands are not too wet when you rub it onto your face.
